More Rumors a la mode...

There is a persistent rumor that VForce Vision Systems plans to launch a new top-secret high-end mask at World Cup 2006. The mask will allegedly be positioned above the Profiler, and reportedly delivers some more new VForce-Style convenience innovations.

Details are few, but there is talk of a brand new unique lens design, and excited talk of an insanely cool look to the whole thing. A bunch of very high-level Scenario Woodsballers and Pro tourney guys have participated in design sessions at the factory to influence the look and feel, and you know how good those guys are at keeping secrets…

And Dale was able to confirm that "The Famous" Billy Smith of Low Country Paintball and the LCP Army have installed wireless internet at Low Country Paintball.  Dale got this email in response to his query about the now-confirmed rumor:

"Well Buddy, the internet story goes like this:

How many times have you gone to a field to play or do a story and needed an internet connection? If you are like me, quite a few. There is nothing more aggravating than being miles from anywhere and needing to check your e-mails or take care of some other type of business and having to drive for miles to a local hotel just to 'borrow' their connection. The first hint I actually got was from Dwayne 'Kahuna' Bell  (Atomic Ordnance), and Dale Ford (yes, you) at one of last years games when they would borrow our dial-up connection at a whooping 28kpbs.

I kinda felt bad that that was all I had to offer. So I told myself, Billy (that's what I call myself) you need to get something here for the business people to use on their trips away from home. So I got with Wesley of the LCP ARMY and said "Hey, let's put a satellite in with wireless connection" So the LCP ARMY and LCP combined their funds and got one hell of a system. We have 1.5g download and 256k upload speed. I'm talking fast! And the great part is it is all wireless and absolutely free for the players here at LCP. Oh yeah, it is also a good way to keep the other half busy so that we can play more paintball. So the next trip you make to Low Country Paintball, be sure to bring your laptop with you and take full advantage of all we have to offer on and off the field!"

"Georgia" Joe Hamilton, who produces games is planning on taking advantage of the 'net being out at the field by giving the Generals at an upcoming game later this year their own laptops to use at the game and emailing the missions to them rather than using radios.  This should increase the security and privacy for the Generals in getting their missions, and from what Dale told me, Joe is able to spice up the emails in some extremely interesting ways.
