Amazing what a little competition will do.  We would like to say thank you to all the field owners that gave us the opportunity to quote their insurance and to all that welcomed us back into the industry.  We had so many people tell us thank you for enlightening the industry on these excess charges and association dues and licensing issues.

We did observe that the competition suddenly lowered their rates, especially the last week before the renewal date.  Several field owner’s called us saying that they were offering discounts and lowering their previous quotes from $400-2000 dollars if you had not renewed yet.  Wonder why you did not get the best quote from the start?

Now, think about this, if the insurance company did not lower their rates, and your policy is based off gross sales, and you submitted a renewal application with the correct sales numbers, there is should be no difference in premium, no credits etc.  You should be paying the same as last year.  Now if they lowered or eliminated their fees, the most your policy should have dropped would be their association dues and application fees of approximately $300-500.

BUT, what if your agent told you that they would lower your gross sales numbers and now your 2008 insurance rate has lowered over that $500 discount?  You DO have an auditable insurance policy with those associations, so IF they decided to do an audit you would owe additional money!!!  Now, be aware of this, that if the application does not reflect the correct sales number, there might be a case of insurance fraud.  This could allow the insurance company to not pay a claim due to fraud on the application for insurance.  If you fax or mail this fraudulent application it could be considered mail fraud, a Federal offense, especially if you sent your application from any other state other than South Carolina or Tennessee. Now you could possibly have interstate charges...

Now of course the insurance agent that would promote this would be in serious trouble also and would lose their license……

We have had a few field owners call us not feeling too comfortable about these issues.  You all should be concerned if you experienced anything like what we just described.

If your field accident medical insurance is coming up for renewal in the next few months, give us a shout.  We have the best coverage with the lowest rates, and yes you can switch!
