The Road to World Cup DVD is a bare-knuckled, no-holds-barred look into the deepest workings of The Raider Nation, which are Pro Team Miami Raiders and D1 Team Jacksonville Raiders.

The PG-13 rated video spans nearly two hours and includes an interview with "Doc" Draper, the team's owner and manager.  The camera work showcasing the team's progression through the NPPL and NXL tournament series is top notch, easily matching the caliber of the other paintball video producers in the market today.

The action is interspersed with profiles on players like LP Everett, Dave Pastore, and coach Paul Richards.  The normally camera-shy Richards is quite prevalent in the film, and listening to how he manages the various personalities on the team and keeps everyone motivated is not only entertaining, but educational.   Draper's motivation for the level of support he gives to the team is explained by Draper himself.  Two of his sons are on the team, and his third and eldest son died prior to Draper's paintball life of an overdose.  He took that personal tragedy and uses paintball to maintain a strong relationship with his remaining sons.

Throughout the video, you see the close bonds between the players on the team, and it becomes clear that this isn't just a job for them.  They endure the hardships of playing at the pro level because they genuinely enjoy playing paintball, and as several players said in their interviews, playing with their friends.

Speaking as a newly minted team captain myself, I learned a lot from watching the movie with regards to being a team captain/coach/owner.  Assuming Richards and Draper can keep the team together, The Raider Nation will become an even bigger powerhouse team than they already are, and the very honest portrayal of Raider's loss at World Cup will likely have a quite  different result in 2007.
