Chino Carbajal
Alberto “Chino” Carbajal is an adrenalin junkie.  The 36 year-old owner of Miami Rage is a firefighter by day, and his weekends are filled with paintball.  He’s also the father to three and husband to his wife Loreta.  He owns Extreme Rage in Miami, Florida and of course he’s still an active player on Rage’s roster, playing up front.  Chino is normally not one to talk to the press, but we were able to convince him to submit to a short interview after Rage’s win in Boston.

Q:  How long have you been playing paintball?

A:  20 years.

Q: How’d you get started?

A: A friend took me to a night game and I have been playing ever since

Q: How did you get introduced to competitive paintball?

A: Just got thrown in.  Within 4 months I won my first tournament, in 6 months I was playing national events with the Florida Terminators.

Q: Why the team name “Rage”?

A: ‘Cause we have always played with Rage and we wanted everybody to know it

Q: How did your relationship with WDP come about?

A: Ronan knew one of the Adrenaline guys and we started shooting Angels. We left and then when we really needed a sponsor again Owen stepped in and saved us.

Q: Rage is considered one of the more intimidating teams to play against.  Is that a product of the team’s intensity, or are there other factors?

A: A combination of intensity, heart, and the team is a family.  All for one, one for all and all the teams know that.

Q: What are the qualities that you look for in a player when you’re recruiting for the team?

A: Heart, knowledge, dedication, talent and the extra urge to kill.

Q: What would it take to get on Team Rage?  Does the team ever have tryouts?

A: We will be having tryouts at the end of this year, but usually it is by recommendation.

Q: Since the inception of the NPPL, Rage has been considered one of the most dangerous teams in the league, but wins have been far and few between.  What was different in Boston that contributed to the win?

A: We finally nailed communication. That was the big difference in my eyes.  Our team played more as a team and there was much more communication

Q:  What’s next?

A: 1st place in San Diego and a run at the series leaders XSV.

Q: Any sponsors, friends, and deities you would like to thank for supporting you and Team Rage?

A: I would like to thank our sponsors. WDP, JT, PMI, NXe, Stiffi, TAG Sportz, MacDev, Str8killas, Animal Paintball, 68caliber, PBEFX, Vienna United and most of all I would like to thank Adrian, Ore, Franky, Marky, Kenny, Travis, Ziggy, Jason, and Art for their hard work and determination to in.
