The World Paintball Library, www.worldpaintballlibrary.com was started in 1985 when the first paintball magazines debuted.  The library has been maintained by Guy D. Cooper of Denver, Colorado at considerable time and cost.  Basically, the library has been a labor of love.  No one on the planet could track the history of paintball in a very detailed manner without having all the world paintball publications at their finger tips.

Eventually, the library was expanded to include not only paintball magazines but paintball videos, DVD's, games, newsletters, event publications and paintball toys.  In 2006, the first ever, full color Paintball Collector's guide was created.  It allows individuals to actually see what publications and other items are presently available and gives collector value to many items long since discontinued.  Every industry ends up with very valuable collectibles.  Look at the number one Superman or Spiderman comics.  Not to mention many other rare and valuable issues of comics, magazines and more.

An unexpected offshoot of the library is that of providing the only complete way to do common law patent searches.  As a result, a number of companies have paid for research and ended up protecting their patents or invalidating other companies claims or suits against them.  For many years, paintball product development and introduction to the market was a bit like the Wild West.  Patenting was mostly ignored.  Now that greater professionalism has occurred on the business sides of things there is greater attention being paid to protecting paintball products and/or researching the market in advance of producing or patenting a new or thought to be new product.

There are and have been over 106 paintball magazines.  Not to mention the thousands of individual issues.  This wealth of information can be found in only one place in all the world--The World Paintball Library!
