Rocky Cagnoni is one of the most recognizable players in the game. He's been playing since the very beginnings of the sport, and he's one of the first players to get sponsorship support from major manufacturers like WDP and Crossfire.
The recently retired Cagnoni is now passing on his skills to the next generation of players by holding clinics all across the country. The 'Break Out' Clinic held at Break 50 Paintball in Tarpon Springs, FL is just one example of what Rocky is doing.
With the arrival of fall in Florida, attendees were welcomed at 9AM by crisp (by Florida standards) weather which was a pleasant difference from the previous 'Break Out' clinic held in July. Attendees also got a surprise instructor, Greg 'Red' Hastings of XSV. XSV is one of the top teams in the world, constantly nipping on Dynasty's heels (and beating them out of first place several times in 2006) and Hastings took the time along with Rocky to pass on the skills he's picked up over the years.
Many of the students from the July clinic were on hand for this one, so Rocky and Greg stepped up the intensity of the drills and training offered at this clinic. One drill in particular was the 3 vs. 2 drill, which pitted two defenders versus 3 attacking players, who's job was to get a player into the snake, while it was the defender's job to keep them out. Snap Shooting drills and the 'Pain Game' were also on the agenda of training for today's clinic.
68Caliber.Com lead photographer Jamie Ford was on site photographing the clinic today, while husband Dale along with team members John 'J Pimp' Navarro and Luiz "Luigi the Beast" Carmona were on the field taking advantage of Cagnoni and Hasting's years of experience.
